Heavy Duty Truck AC Repair in St. Paul, AB

Truck drivers are expected to travel far distances in any type of weather. As North Americans, we all know how much the weather varies when crossing state and country lines. From the hot southern states like Utah and Texas to the cold Canadian provinces, you need a proper HVAC system in order to stay comfortable and safe while driving. Unfortunately, over time your HVAC system may experience wear and tear, simply through use. Below we’ve put together some information on the symptoms to look out for. Catching these issues early will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Tell-Tale Symptoms of a Bad HVAC System

Weak Air Flow

If the airflow coming from your vents is weak or almost non-existent, chances are your cabin air filter needs to be replaced. A lot of people mistakenly assume that your cabin air filter is the same as your engine air filter, and as such, never change their cabin air filter. On most vehicles, you need to change your cabin air filter on a routine basis. A lot of drivers will replace their air filter with every oil change to prevent it from becoming clogged on long drives. Sometimes they can get clogged up with leaves, dirt, and sometimes even road debris.

Excessive Moisture

Your A/C system is designed to remove moisture from your passenger compartment. It does this using a series of evaporator coils and an enclosed refrigerant system. Over time these evaporator coils may start to clog up, hence the excessive moisture. If you are having this issue, feel free to bring your truck into our shop. Here at Whitecloud Mechanical, our technicians are well equipped to deal with any and all A/C issues. We’ll have your excessive moisture problem sorted out before you know it.
